Tomorrow is Thanksgiving. Tomorrow!!! That means the next day is Black Friday -- something I do not take part in -- and a month from yesterday is Christmas. Where has 2014 gone?
In preparation for this blog, I re-read last year's Thanksgiving post. From last year I listed a number of things that I was thankful for, including:
- My faith.
- My health.
- My employment.
- My family.
Looking back on 2014, all of those things played a role in my year. My faith continues to grow. My health is good and my weight is still down. Great Plains is still a great place to work. And my family is still quirky and fun and well, family.
I also mentioned other things too… my dogs, my parents, my guitar, my bicycle, cell phones, eye doctors, clean water, food and clothing, friends and neighbors, Land Pride dealers and Land Pride customers, a roof over my head and a floor under my feet, blue skies and rain, pumpkin pie and turkey legs, ice cream with butterscotch topping, and even the ability to type this blog…
Everywhere you look you can find things to be thankful for. As you sit down to an over-indulgent Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow, or whenever, I would encourage each on of you to identify five things you are thankful for. Ask your guests to do the same, some of the responses could be a surprise.
Wishing you a blessed Thanksgiving!
